Alexandre Canton

Alexandre “Alcindor” Canton was born on July 3, 1946 to the late Adelhomme Canton and Jeanne Norecine Jeantinor in Bassin Bleu, Haiti. He grew up among close relatives in Bassin Bleu with his Paternal Aunt, Amelina “Dida” Canton.
Upon graduation, he relocated to Port-Au-Prince where he worked as a bulldozer operator. Soon thereafter, he met and married his first wife Victomene Blaise, out of that union 3 children was born: Nathalie Canton-McDonald, Frantz Canton and Malaury Canton. The couple each had 1 child prior to their union Fritznel Saint-Louis and Marie Geraldine Blaise.
He married his second wife Jeanine Baptichon in 1992 and from that union they shared daughter Myrloudes Canton-Alcime.
He was a patient man, kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friends. Alexandre was also a man of deep rooted religious faith. He attended church regularly and observed Sabbath. He was always in prayer and counseling to others.
He departed this life on Monday June 17th 2019.
He was predeceased by his parents, his Step-Daughter Marie Geraldine “Didine”, brothers (Fatil and Benjamin) sisters (Seronteuse and Orilia). Alexandre leaves to mourn: his Wife Jeanine, children Fritznel(Harmony), Nathalie(Bruce), Frantz(Judith), Malaury, Myrloudes(Kinne), grandchildren’s Bruce III(step) Rose-Michard, Sasha (step), Cortney (step), Jean-Fritz, Giovanni, Deron, Shenayah, Ricknel, Brandon, Jacob, Paris, Brielle, and Leah: as well as a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives from the Canton, Jeantinor, Durosier, Dubreus, Cenord, Guerrier, Docteur, Saint- Louis, Prophete, St. Hilaire, Maurissette, Blaise, Euserbe, Baptichon and several other Family and friends.
