Ana D. Santiago

September 28, 1954 — October 5, 2024

Ana Delia Santiago (née Colón) was born on September 28, 1954 to Jose C. Colon and Dominga Jimenes de Colon; who both proceeded her in death, along with two older brothers; Mario and Concepcion.

Ana attended Washington Irving High School in Manhattan, NY (1968-1972). Afterwards, she went on to work at the Hospital for Joint Disease located, at the time, on Madison Ave, between 123rd and 124th Street. Ana worked in the I.C.U. ward. It was there that she met her future husband, Carlos A. Santiago; an X-Ray Technician, who also proceeded her in death. Together, they had a beautiful son, Andres C. Santiago, who was the love of her life. In 1991 they came to live in Florida, where she would eventually pursue a career in teaching. She taught at Get Smart Preschool, as part of their VPK program. She had a deep passion for children and cherished being able to nurture their early development. Ana also loved studying the Bible, engaging in conversation about it, and preaching its messages whenever she could. She also loved arts and crafts, especially when creating anything that she could bedazzle with her signature "Bling-Bling". One could frequently find her doing Bible Studies or decorating her custom-made, "Bling-Bling" caps. Ana's various passions would combine together as it extended to many of the kids in her neighborhood who knew her son. She would mentor them, help with school projects, and hold regular Bible Study sessions for them. Ana is survived by:- Her Son, Andres C. Santiago, in Florida. - Her Brothers: Hector M. Colón in Florida, George Colón in New York, Luis A. Colón in Florida, Orlando Colón in New York. - Her Sisters: Delia Colón in Florida, Delia A. Barnes in New York, Carmen D. Colón in New York. - Her Sisters-in-Law: Elisa Colón in Florida, Diane Feliciano in New York. - Her Aunts: Katie Rodriguez (also her Godmother) in New York, and Cuty Rodriguez in New York. - Her Spiritual Mother: Lydia Cassiere in New York. - Many beloved Nephews and Nieces, including two Godsons, Great-Nephews and Great-Nieces, Cousins and Friends.

Ana was a beautiful soul who will be dearly missed. She will be forever carried on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her.

The family would like to thank everyone for their sincere condolences.
