Edenia "Chachi" Gonzalez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edenia "Chachi" Gonzalez, who left us on February 4, 2025, at her residence. Born on December 11, 1948, in Cuba, Edenia was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. She embodied love and resilience, a testament to her adventurous spirit and deep commitment to her family.

Edenia had a profound love for animals, dedicating much of her life to rescuing those in need. Her compassionate nature extended beyond her human connections, as she found joy in caring for and nurturing the creatures of the world around her. She was a gentle soul who radiated warmth, filling every room with laughter and kindness.

Among her proudest accomplishments, Edenia cherished the daring voyage she undertook across the Caribbean, where she borrowed a boat to bring her beloved relatives to the United States. This act of bravery not only reflected her deep love for family but also her unyielding desire for freedom and her empowering spirit.

Edenia is survived by her devoted spouse, Maria, her dear sister, Isabel, and a loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts. The bond she shared with her family was palpable; they cherished every moment spent together and will continue to celebrate the legacy of love and courage she instilled in them.

A visitation with family will be held on February 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation, located in North Lauderdale, Florida. As we gather to remember and honor the beautiful life of Edenia "Chachi" Gonzalez, we will reflect on the indelible mark she left on our hearts and the lives she transformed with her love and compassion.
