Elmo L. Lawrence
ELMO LAWRENCE died peacefully on June 10, 2016 at Broward Health Medical Center in the Gold Coast Hospice Unit. He was born on September 9, 1941 in Germany to Margot and Lawrence W. Lawrence, moving to the United States in 1942. After graduating from Fort Lauderdale High School, Elmo served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963.
Elmo was unassuming, principled and above all, he protected his family. He spent many years volunteering at Federal Little League where his sons played baseball. He was a member of The Sanctuary Church, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, often baking cookies for the congregation.
Elmo is predeceased by his son, Luke. He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Jeanne; son Marc (Gretchen); his 2 grandsons, Daniel and Sammy and his sisters, Sylvia, Lorraine, Carmen and Lilian.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 17 at 11:30, following the regular service, at The Sanctuary Church 1400 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gold Coast Hospice Unit located at Broward Health Medical Center.
Serenity Memorial Chapels has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
