Greco, Esther Rose, age 96 of Tamarac, Florida, went home to be with our Lord on November 4th, 2018 after her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by loving family as she passed.
Esther was born in Lorain, Ohio on May 27th, 1922 to Giuseppe and Filomena Cacia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years Vincent (Jim) Greco, her parents and 8 sisters Catherine Cacia, Mary Gubeno, Angeline Cacia, Carrie Cacia, Sylvia Mattie, Rose Salvetta, Josephine Camarillo and Evelyn Kinney and her grandson Robert Carter.
Esther was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an amazing cook and her favorite pass time was cooking for and spending time with family and friends. She loved to bowl and continued to bowl past the age of 90. Everyone she bowled with or ever met loved her like
family, most referring to her as "Grandma".
Esther was a devote Catholic and a long time member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church. She was a resident of Melrose Park from 1959 till 2012.
Esther is survived by her son James (Lua) Greco, daughters Carol (Stephen)
Brownell and Natalie (Dennis) Block. Grandchildren Gina (James) Moll, Benjamin (Michelle) Bennett, Tina (Timothy) Fields. Great-grandchildren Carissa and Dylan Moll, Madison, Timothy, Chloe and Ansley Fields , and Colton and Luci Bennett. Also, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends too numerous to name.
Esther was loved by so many and her beautiful smile will be missed and cherished by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the nurses, Minister and Priest from Catholic Hospice Health Services for the wonderful care Esther received and their continuous show of love and support.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 10, 2018, from 9:00 A.M.-10:45 A.M. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1450 S State Road 7 (441), N. Lauderdale, Florida 33068 (954) 306-2124
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven, located next door to the funeral home.
Interment immediately following at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, located behind the Church.
Masses may be said in Esther's name or donations to the American Cancer Society made in her honor.
