Frances Jo-Ann Freeborn was born in Providence Hospital in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, on August 8, 1941. She spent her childhood traveling with her parents, June & Nicholas Fumara, and her siblings, James, Dominic, and Gloria, while they found employment working at carnivals and fairs.
Frances married Kenneth Freeborn on June 11, 1958, in Winchester, Virginia and they soon had children of their own, Kenneth Jr., Toni Lynn, and James. The family continued to work the carnival business, quickly becoming independent owners of food and a variety of games, eventually building a substantial business venture. She continued in this life until the passing of Kenneth in 2015 after 57 years of marriage.
Unable to continue the business on her own, she came to live with her youngest son, James, until her passing. In recent years, she endured the passing of several close family members, including her granddaughter, Nicole, her son, Kenneth Jr., her brother, Dominic, and her sister, Gloria. Each time she showed the strength and resiliency that were the hallmark of her entire life and supported, as well as received support, from all her extended family.
She is survived by her children Toni Lynn and James, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by her brother James and his children and grandchildren and more extended family than can be listed here.
