Genevieve M. Zaura (“Jean” or “Gene”), passed on July 7, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Jean’s residence here in Florida as a “snowbird” was only temporary. She lived in Plainfield with her daughter Nancy and previously lived in Cicero, IL for 75 years. She also spent several years in Johnston City, Illinois as a child.
Genevieve was born on December 18, 1913 in Cicero, Illinois to the late Charles and Grace Mizger (Kuneika). Genevieve was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, James A. Zaura, (April 1987) Those left to cherish her memory are her son James C. Zaura of Naperville IL, Nancy Prazak of Plainfield, IL, and Marilyn Zaura of Centennial, CO. She also leaves behind her only living sibling, William J. Mizger, of Coconut Creek, Florida, previously of Cicero, Illinois. Siblings who have passed were Charlene Laugaud, Grace Johnson, Stella Brontsema, Frank Mizger, and Charles Migzer. Her 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren will miss their Gramma very much. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 14, 2017, from 9:00 AM-9:45 AM at Serenity Memorial Chapel, 5229 Coconut Creek Parkway, Margate,Fl. 33063.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am at the Chapel of St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, 6350 NW 18th Street, Margate, FL 33063. No flowers requested.
Final resting place will be at the family plot at St. Casimir’s Catholic Cemetery,
4401 West 111th Street, Chicago, IL, 60655, where she will be interred alongside her husband James, her sister-in-law Malvina “Molly” (Zaura) and her husband John Petravicz. Location for graveside service is Lot 39, Block 42, Section 70, Grave 4.
Graveside Service will take place on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 12:00 P.M.
