Gladys Biggins Thomas was the 10th of twelve children born to the late Tom and Hattie Allen Biggins in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. She loves the Lord and always enjoyed going to church when she can. Gladys graduated and received all her education in Kansas City, Missouri and New York. She attended Nassau Community College in New York to major her career as a Nursing Assistant.
She also did volunteered work at the Northwest Focal Point Senior Center in Broward County. She enjoyed working and performing her best at all times. She has left this legacy, among others, for her descendants.
In 1966 she met, fell in love and married her husband Carlton Thomas, Sr. For their retirement years, they both moved to Broward County, South Florida in 1984 until the time of her passing.
She has one son - Mark Thomas, Sr. and a Step-Daughter - Mrs. Tandi Gilmore; (4) grandsons: Carlton Thomas, Jr., Mark Thomas, Jr. , Tyrone Gilmore and Tyreese Gilmore. Granddaughters (3): Latisha Thomas, Connie Dyches and Courtney Gilmore.
In addition to her immediate family, Gladys is survived by her only sibling Mary Gordon who resides in North Carolina.
Gladys was a people-person, very special, classy person who was always generous, kind and compassionate to others and her family. She was always dedicated to her children and entire family including many, many nieces and nephews. She loves people in general and was always willing to encourage and uplift anyone in a good way who seems sad to her just to make them laugh or give them a hug.
The Lord God has now called her home to rest. She would want you to keep on smiling with love without any worry. We are grateful to God to bless us the family and friends for her full and memorable life.
She departed peacefully at her residence in Broward County, Florida on March 31, 2019. She will be greatly missed especially by her sincere and most dedicated and loving husband.
May her soul rest in peace with God.
