Obituary for Gloria Olive Mackintosh

Gloria Olive Poveda Mackintosh- a long time resident of Planation, Florida died Friday April 15 th , at Manor Care, Sunrise Florida.

Born January 28, 1921, in Kingston Jamaica, to the parents of Eva Foreman and Joseph Poveda. She was the second youngest daughter out of five, Monica (Claire and Merle-Twins) Gloria and Barbara. Gloria married William Fraser Mackintosh and had two children Lorraine Carol Mackintosh and Jean Marcelle Hobbs. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved to cook and bake . She was famously known for her Christmas puddings, soups, and cakes.

For a brief time she worked for Swiss Stores Jewelry at the Pegasus Hotel, then she worked at the Jamaica Tourist Board.

Gloria loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed swimming , shopping and the movies. She had a wonderful sense of humour and could make anyone laugh and smile.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lorraine and Jean , her three grandchildren , Robyn Mackintosh, Lisa Jean Mackintosh Hobbs and Charlotte Victoria Hobbs, great grandchildren, Sean Mackintosh, Holokai Mackintosh, Marjorie Mo'ike , Morgan Kahea Washburn and Coleridge Hobbs-Kirmse. In addition, she had two grandson in-laws Victor Washburn and Brian Kirmse.

Gloria will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Heaven, April 28th, 2016. at 11:00 a.m. located in North Lauderdale, Florida.

Serenity Memorial Chapels has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
