Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka was a gifted athlete who revolutionized and electrified professional wrestling.
James Wiley Smith Snuka passed away at the age of 73 on January 15, 2017: Jimmy was a resident of Coral Springs, Florida at the time of his passing.
Jimmy was born on May 18, 1943 to his mother Louisa Vitu Smith and father Charles Wimbledon Benjamin Thomas, in Mau Quarry Navua, Fiji. Jimmy was a proud husband, father, grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife: Carole Marie Snuka (nee. Jennings); children: James Jr., Liana, Sarona, and Ata, Step Children Bridget, Rich and Dennis; Along with many loving step children and grand babies.
Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka touched many lives throughout his legendary professional wrestling career, He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996, the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012. His contributions to the wrestling world will never be duplicated. As magnificent as Jimmy was in the ring, he was even more impressive as a man. Jimmy made everyone feel special, from family to strangers and especially animals. Jimmy will be deeply missed, but will forever remain in our hearts. He is now free to fly high as he’s always dreamed.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 9:30am-11:30am at Serenity Memorial Chapels, located at 5229 Coconut Creek Parkway, Margate, Florida 33063 (754)205-4640.
There will be a memorial mass service in NJ for those who were unable to attend the Florida service. The date will be announced at a later time.
