Fort Lauderdale – Jean Guy Magnan, 88, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Holy Cross Hospital.
He is survived by four daughters, Francine Aubertin Magnan, Celine Magnan, Josee Ortuso and Lucie Strawser; 2 sisters, Jeanne D’Arc Magnan and Lise Magnan; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; Brother Mario Magnan and many close friends.
Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, one of 11 children to Leopold and Florence (Paquin) Magnan, he moved to Florida in 1981.
Mr. Magnan married his wife, Colette (Boulanger) Magnan, of 58 years in 1948. After moving to Florida, he worked for Sheridan Lumber for 25 years before his retirement.
Jean Guy and Colette had a passion for their family and friends. Together they hosted weekly dinners, holidays and family milestones to include: birthdays, graduations and weddings. He lived life to the fullest and devoted his time to traveling with his wife and spending time with his family.
Together again, they now rest in peace.
A memorial service will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 2533 Southwest 9th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315 on Thursday, March 5 at 11:00 am.
