Joanne Giuseppa Angileri née D’Antoni passed away peacefully on June 7 th , 2023, at her home in
Kissimmee, Florida.
Born February 4, 1933 in Marsala, Sicily, Joanne grew up among the orange trees of
her family orchards.
After navigating the hardships of WWII, she fell in love with a former sailor from the
American Navy, Frank Angileri, and embraced the opportunity to start a new adventure in the United
States. They were married in 1950 and welcomed their daughter, Katherine Angileri, two years later.
Joanne worked as a seamstress for Daisy’s Originals while raising her daughter and attending classes at
night. Throughout her life, she was exceptionally beautiful, a graceful dancer, and an avid traveler.
Whether she was at sea, in the wilderness, or in the air, she was always fashionably dressed with her
hair impeccably styled. When she wasn’t traveling, Joanne was spending time with her family, and she
was always ready to offer a cup of coffee and a plate of cookies to a guest. She was a gentle, nurturing
presence in the lives of her daughter and grandchildren, and she hosted nearly every family gathering
where she treated everyone to her amazing cooking. She was close with her extended family in Boston,
Massachusetts and she maintained a beautiful friendship with her neighbor, Gracie, until the end of her
life.
Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Vincenzo D’Antoni and Angela Piccione, her sister, Dina,
and her husband, Frank Angileri. She leaves behind her daughter, Katherine, her granddaughter
Elizabeth and husband Christopher Selleck, her granddaughter Juliette and husband Nick Hubbard, and
her two great-grandchildren, Gavin Selleck and Theodora Hubbard. We are all so grateful to have shared
this life with her, and we take comfort that she is reunited with the love of her life, Frank Angileri. A
memorial service will be held this Friday, June 23 from 10-12 at Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation,
1450 S State Road 7, North Fort Lauderdale, FL 33068 with a Mass at 12:30.
