Obituary for John Richard "Rick" Couvell

John Richard Couvell “Rick” of Boynton Beach Florida passed away on Monday October 15, 2018.

Born in Barrie, Ontario, Canada on December 17, 1957, Rick moved to south Florida in 1976 and became a most loyal citizen of the United States.

Rick was a true American Patriot. Donald Trump was his President.

An Avid Sports Enthusiast; Rick’s teams were the Oakland Raiders, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers.

In addition to his devotion to his professional teams, Rick was ‘The Voice” of the Coral Springs Chargers Tackle Football Club for over 20 years. Young athletes and their families will always remember Rick calling out their names during games, announcing them during Homecoming festivities and dancing with them at half-time. The Charger Cheerleaders will forever treasure the memory of Rick’s famous ‘Hey Cheerleader’s How Do You Feel?”

If Rick had a Life Motto it would be “Today, I Will Make a Difference”. Rick made a Difference Every Day of his Life through his love for his family, being a true friend to everyone who needed a friend, and as a role model and mentor to the athletes of the Coral Springs Chargers Tackle Football Club. A kind word, a smile, a hug, advice, holding a hand or just being there, just being Rick.

Rick Made a Difference through giving the gift of music as a DJ making every celebration special. “We DJ Parties” ensured Memorable Parties for his clients… “Everybody Clap Your Hands”, “Cha Cha Real Smooth”. Rick rocked the music like no one else. Making a Difference in the Lives of Others.
Rick is survived by his beautiful, devoted, loving wife Toni, his sons who he considered his greatest life accomplishment, Christopher, Luc and Bret, daughter-in-law, Amanda, his precious granddaughter Rielyn, his sister-in-law, Terri Pendley, nephews; Shane and Bobby, nieces Shawna, her partner Michelle, great niece, Eleanor, and beloved family throughout Canada.
