Jose Torres

José Enrique Torres of Laurinburg, North Carolina, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his family on October 9, 2024.

Fondly known as "Quique," he was born in Barrio Río Abajo, Ceiba, Puerto Rico on April 22, 1937. He had a passion for cooking, especially traditional Puerto Rican dishes, and took pride in his culinary skills.Quique also enjoyed home improvement projects and landscaping his yard. His greatest joy, however, was spending quality time with his loved ones. 

Quique's loving spirit is carried on by his beloved wife, Judith; and their children, Noel Torres, Darlene (Sean) Sullivan, and Julie (Brent) Sant, as well as Marilyn Torres, Nelcy (José) Santana, and Sylvia (Irwin) Ortiz. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in peace were his son José, his parents Higinio and Francisca, and his siblings Gil, Efrain, Eliseo, Gladys, and Antonio.

The burial will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
