Joseph Mancuso Sr., 92, husband of the late Wanda Mancuso of Boca Raton went to be with his sweetheart Saturday, November 3, 2018.
Joseph Mancuso Sr. was born February 6, 1926, in New York City, New York. He was the son of the late Salvatore and Concetta Mancuso.
He joined the United States Marines right out of high school during World War II and is a survivor of Iwo Jima. While doing photography, he met his bride when she came in to get her photos taken. They had a 64 year marriage and raised two boys, Joseph Mancuso Jr. and the late Raymond Mancuso. While raising their boys, Joseph was a business owner in the die cutting industry. He later worked for the New York City Transit Authority where he fully retired and moved his family down to Florida in the early 1990's.
Upon moving to Florida they made many friends and most all of the family followed to ensure a homemade Sunday dinner was never missed. In his spare time he frequented casinos and made himself comfortable in the penny arcade.
His fellowship with his family is what he cherished the most. He had the best appetite of anyone around the table and passed down the gift of always making sure there is more than enough food for anyone who may stop by.
Joseph enjoyed playing cards, watching old westerns and shopping, never forgetting his clipped coupons or tickets as he called them. He had a steady hand and an eye for fixing anything imaginable to perfection. He was the upmost gentleman that passed this great quality through 3 more generations. He loved spending time with his great grandchild and took many trips to Texas to see his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Mancuso Jr. (Judi Schnaffner) of Boca Raton, Florida, daughter Tina Caccamo of Coconut Creek, Florida; 2 grandsons, Joseph Mancuso III (Hannah Mancuso) of Lockhart, Texas and Matthew Mancuso of Grapevine, Texas; great-grandson, Lincoln Mancuso of Lockhart, Texas, many nieces, nephews and blessed with additional family of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Wanda Mancuso, he was predeceased by his son, Raymond Mancuso, parents and siblings.
