On Friday, October 18th, 2019, Karen Sue Calhoun, loving mother and friend to all passed away unexpectedly at the age of 54.
Karen was born on March 29th, 1965 in St. Petersburg, FL to Patricia Ann Bach and Larry Swensk. Karen had a passion for animals, gardening and making everyone around her happy. She was an avid music lover and despite her fight against epilepsy, she always made time for those in need. She was a Jane-of-all-trades, having worked in nursing, management, retail and landscaping.
She was admired by so many people that she had touched over the years. She was known for her sharp wit, infectious sense of humor, her inspirational messages, her love for her family and her social media presence.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Larry, her grandmother, Lela and grandfather, Roy. She is survived by her husband, Daniel, her son, Patrick, son-in-law, Peter, her mother, Patricia, her three brothers, Steve, Keith and Tracey-Chase, her god-daughter, Anastasia, her best friends, Stacy, Amy and Dawn, her fur babies, Toby, Greyjoy and Noobs as well as her many cousins and countless friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 at Serenity Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M.
