Obituary for
Lucille M. DeFalco
Lucille M. DeFalco, 74, of Tamarac, FL, passed away on January 24, 2018. She was born on June 11, 1943 in the Bronx, NY to the late Louis and wife Dorothy (Colalillo) DeFalco, and preceded in death by her step-mother, Josephine (D’Alessandro) DeFalco, who raised her from the age of five.
She is survived by her wife, Kathy Gileno; her son, James (Cheri) Antonelli; daughter, Laura (Glen) Karol; and preceded in death by son, Joseph Antonelli and brother, Camillo “Butch” DeFalco. Also survived by sister, Kathy (Steve) Bousman; and brother Peter (Beverly) DeFalco; 3 grandchildren – Anthony, Alyssa and Stone; and 2 great-grandchildren – Peyton, Aiden, as well and many sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and cousins.
Lucille spent many years in the medical field as a secretary/office manager. She also co-owned a property management company, and in retirement volunteered many hours of her time and expertise to various health and wellness centers.
Lucille and her wife Kathy were married on July 27, 2017, celebrating 40 years together. Their home was a love-filled environment for family, friends, children and animals…as well as homeless and passersby – she loved to feed them all. She was the matriarch of her family and adored her grandkids and great-grandkids and precious Shiba Inu dogs.
She was known for her huge heart and charitable nature, and believed in paying it forward, going out of her way to do so wherever the opportunity presented itself. She was a very spiritual person, always seeking, discussing and surrounding herself with like-minded people so she could absorb and continuously learn.
Lucille was very passionate about many things: reading, cooking, music and dancing, just to name a few. She had a very whimsical personality, which showed in her collection of dragonflies and fairies. She was adventure-seeking, fun-loving and young at heart. She loved happy-ending movies. Those who knew her well knew her love for Disney World and Tinkerbell, as well as Universal Studios and Harry Potter!
Lucille touched many lives and left a mark on everyone who met her. She leaves behind a void that can never be filled. In her final days, Lucille expressed how she was truly blessed and so filled with gratitude for everyone and all the gifts in her life. But, as in life, she did it her way.
The family is so thankful for all the care, support, prayers, well-wishes, visits and contributions received over the past few months. Your outpouring of love will be in our hearts forever.
