Margaret Chin

Margaret Sonia Chin born on 9/21/1946 died peacefully in her sleep on September 7 th ,
2020.

Margaret Sonia Chin was born in Castries, St. Lucia to Alan R. King & Lucia E. King
(deceased). She then migrated to Trinidad and Tobago, where she married Alfred Chin
(deceased) and raised her children. She was also an Insurance Agent with British
American before migrating to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to live. She then went to on to
work as a Unit Secretary for St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital in Lauderdale Lakes,
Florida. She was a devout Catholic that regularly attended mass at St. Helen’s Catholic
Church in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Margaret was also the partner of Nazib Nagil
formerly of Trinidad and Tobago that came to Florida to live with her until his passing on
August 31 st , 2016. She was an amazing mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great
grandmother, and friend that loved spending time with her family. She was also a great
cook and baker that loved to entertain people at her home. She especially loved to
dance in her younger years. She also loved Christmas and would watch the same
Christmas movies repeatedly, especially, It's a wonderful Life, The Christmas Card and
Eloise at Christmastime. She was also breast cancer and uterine cancer survivor.
Margaret Sonia Chin, will forever be the mother of Christopher Chin (Trinidad), Edward
Chin (USA) (deceased), mother-in-law of Al Haskell (Missouri USA), mother of Beverly-
Ann Chin (Trinidad), ex-mother-in-law of Ashley Edmund Seecharan (Tyie) (Trinidad),
mother of Charmaine Ramlakhan (USA), mother-in-law of Vishnu Ramlakhan (Smokey)
(USA), mother of Annabella Chin (USA) and mother of Carlton Chin (Trinidad).
Margaret will forever be the grandmother of Arnold Chin (deceased) (Trinidad), Ashton
Seecharan (Trinidad), Adam Chin (Trinidad), Michael Chin (USA), Alvin Seecharan
(Trinidad), Anthony Chin (USA), Candice Ramlakhan (USA), Adrian Chin (Trinidad),
Angelica Chin (Trinidad), Adrian Seecharan (Trinidad), Alan Chin (Trinidad), Crystal
Chin (Trinidad), Nicholas Ramlakhan (USA), Candice Chin (Trinidad), Antonio
Seecharan (Trinidad), Alfred Chin (Trinidad), Christopher Chin (Carlton’s son)
(Trinidad). She will also forever be granny to Danny, Terry, Juan, Lutter, Alex, Vicki,
Carlos, Jabbar, Dee Nemorin and Sally all of the USA and Christopher Dhanesar
(Trinidad).

She will also forever be the grand mother-in-law of Gabrielle Seecharan, (Trinidad),
Melissa Torres, (Trinidad) Patricia Chin (USA) Ashley Seecharan (Trinidad), Amirah
Mohammed (Trinidad), Gemma Baliram (Trinidad), and Calvin Showers (Trinidad).
She will also forever be the Grandmama of Gabriel Chin and Olivia Chin (USA) and the
Great Grandmother of Jeremiah Chin (Miah), Jasmine Chin (Lucy), Isabella Chin (Izzy),
Adriana Chin, Aiden Chin, Cassie Showers, Chloe Showers and Caden Showers, all of
Trinidad, as well as Scarlet and Leylani.

She also leaves behind her sisters, Pauline Lynch, Jeanne Clovis, Marcia King, Dawn
Harris (King), her brothers Robert King and Tony King. Her brothers-in-law, Barlow
Lynch, Roy Clovis and James Harris, cousins Suzie and Sammy (England), numerous
nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and great cousins in the USA,
England, and St. Lucia. She was preceded in death by her brothers Trevor King, Leslie
King, Officer David King, and her sister Maria King.

She was also the friend of Ms. Veronica Baptiste (Ms. Lenny), the Baptiste family
(Trinidad), Joan and Kimberley (Trinidad), Carol Rolle (USA), Elroy Quammie and the
Quammie family (Trinidad), Bernadine Gray, Sita Singh and the Lochan family
(Trinidad), Ms. Patsy Jones, Vivenne L. Levy, Phyllis Everette, Grace, Suresh, Sheffina,
Ken and Debra, Pat and Naresh Ramlal, Villiena, Sheila Coleman, Tony Irish and
Family (USA) and numerous others.

The family of the late Margaret Sonia Chin would like to express their gratitude to
everyone that reached out to their family including Sheriff Nagil, Shereen Kismatali and

Thank you everyone for comforting us and giving of your time as we navigate the loss of
our beautiful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Funeral Services for the late Margaret Chin will be held on Friday September 18 th , 2020.
The viewing will be held at Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation, located at 1450 S.
State Road 7, North Lauderdale, Florida 33068 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The mass
will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church, located at 1400 S. State Road 7,
North Lauderdale, Florida 33068 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral will be at Our
Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, located at 1400 S. State Road 7, North Lauderdale,
Florida 33068 from 1:30 until (only immediate relatives (up to 25) are to attend the
burial). Everyone is required to wear masks and to social distance as much as possible.
