Maria A. Serrano

Maria Auxiliadora Serrano, 69, of Aventura passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021.

Born in Esmeraldas, Ecuador on June 20, 1952 to the late Hugo and Piedad Hoyos. Maria lived in Ecuador in her early years, where she met Frank, and then married him in 1970. Together they moved to the United States, raising their three loving children in Oradell, New Jersey. Before retiring, she was a Financial Systems Analyst at Merrill Lynch in Jersey City, NJ for seventeen years.

Maria is survived by her beloved husband of over fifty-one years, Frank Serrano. Devoted mother of Melissa, Allen and his wife Mary Anne, and Rory and his wife Noelle. Dear sister of Cynthia, Ingrid, Jorge, and Hugo. Loving grandmother of Samantha, Michael, Gianna, Briella, and Luke whom she treasured very much. Maria is also survived by her loving brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 8th from 11 AM -1 PM at Serenity Funeral Home (1450 S. State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL). Funeral Liturgy from Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 1:30 PM (1400 S. State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL). Entombment following at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery (1500 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL).
