Marie Lourdes Porcenna Raphael sadly passed away at the age of 70 years old, on March 8, 2023, which coincidentally happened to be International Women's Day. She was an exemplary woman!
She was born on November 15, 1952, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Annette Pierre Louis and Paul Emile Porsenna. While in Haiti, Marie Lourdes met her husband, Francois Raphael. They got married in 1986 and had two children, Valerie and Geromina. In 1998, Marie Lourdes and her husband moved to Florida to provide a better life for their family.
As a wife and mother, Marie Lourdes was deeply devoted to her family, always taking care of their needs before her own. She made many sacrifices to help her children achieve their goals in life. As a sister and friend, Marie Lourdes was always ready and willing to help those in need. She was beloved by those who knew her and strived to make a positive impact in the lives of those around her at every opportunity. Marie Lourdes also loved to cook and to feed others her delicious food; this was one of her many pleasures in life. Moreover, Marie Lourdes also loved to sew and watch game shows, like Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune, with her family. Most importantly, Marie Lourdes loved to pray, especially the Rosary, because she loved God and the Virgin Mary.
Marie Lourdes is survived by her husband, her two children, her grandson, Mikal-El, her son-in-law, Derrick Dennis, and her two brothers, Michel Jean Marie Porsenna and Carlo Porsenna. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on through her family forever.
