Mary Agnes Anderson Longmuir, beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 23, 2014, after a years-long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 90 years old. Mary was born on September 19, 1924, in Worcester, MA, and raised in Whitinsville, MA. She was a long time resident of South Florida, moving to North Miami Beach with her family in 1956 and then to Ft. Lauderdale with her children in 1962 after her divorce. She has lived in Margate since 2009. Mary was a cute and pert little gal who loved to play cards, especially Bridge and other low-stakes card games. She was also a big lover of animals of all sorts, especially her kitties, and supported The Humane Society. Mary leaves behind her daughter, Karen L. Mathis (James Mathis), of Fayetteville, GA, and her son, William E. Longmuir (Sharon Powers), of Margate, Florida. She also leaves two grandsons, George Sterling III, of Washington D.C., and David Sterling, of Fayetteville, GA, along with two nieces and a nephew. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Vitas Hospice or to a favorite charity of your choice in Mary's name.
