Michael Chaney

Samuel Michael Chaney passed away February 7, 2025 at age 77. He was born January 30, 1948 in Kankakee, Il to parents Bill and Sarah. He loved spending time with his Yorkie Brandy and walked with him up to 5 miles a day. He owned and operated Payless Roofing for 20+ years, even having the honor of reroofing the Key West Lighthouse. He and Marlene made their home in Coral Springs, raised their son Sean, and made many wonderful memories. He was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, and Friend.

He is survived by his sons Adam Chaney and Eric Chaney; Granddaughter Lacey Chaney; Grandson Scott Chaney; Half-sisters Michelle Chaney, Lynette Shotts, Kari Chaney, Deniese Haug; Half-brothers Harold Chaney and James Chaney; and his Niece Heather Kramer.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marlene, Son Sean, Brother Tim, Sister-in-law Cathy, and Niece Casey. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 8 at Serenity Funeral Home located at 1450 S State Road 7 North Lauderdale, FL 33068. The chapel will be open at 1pm and the service will begin at 2pm.
