The world became a better place on August 5, 1934, the day Miguel Soto was born in Lima, Peru. After a long and happy life, Miguel passed away peacefully at the age of 89 in Coral Springs, Florida surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Rosa, his daughters Graciela Soto and Mariela Serrano, and his grandchildren Alejandro, Gabriel, Santiago, and Juan Diego Serrano as well as Elena, Sofia, and Christopher Richards.
Miguel was an accomplished civil engineer who graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria in Lima and was well regarded by his peers and students. He studied, worked, and lived in several countries in Europe and South America. He was passionate about classical music and the opera which he truly enjoyed during the years he studied in Italy. A dedicated father and husband, he was a role model to his daughters to whom he taught the importance of moral values, respect, responsibility, charity, and the significance of helping others without expecting anything in return.
To honor his memory, a wake will be held on April 17, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Serenity Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be on April 18, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at St Andrew Catholic Church, followed by the burial at 11:30 am in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.

El mundo se convirtió en un mejor lugar cuando nació Miguel Soto el dia 5 de agosto del 1934 en Lima, Perú. Después de una vida larga y feliz, Miguel falleció a los 89 años en paz y tranquilidad en Coral Springs, Florida rodeado de sus familiares y amigos. Le sobreviven su esposa Rosa, sus hijas Graciela Soto y Mariela Serrano, sus nietos, Alejandro, Gabriel, Santiago, y Juan Diego Serrano, además de Elena, Sofía, y Christopher Richards.
Miguel fue un distinguido ingeniero civil, graduado de la Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria de Lima, muy respetado y estimado por otros profesionales y sus estudiantes. Estudió, trabajó, y vivió en varios países de Europa y Sudamérica. Miguel disfrutaba de la música clásica y la ópera las cuales fueron su pasión, especialmente cuando vivió en Italia. Fue un padre y esposo dedicado a su familia y un gran ejemplo para sus hijas, a quienes inculcó la importancia de los valores morales, el respeto, la responsabilidad, la caridad, y el significado de ayudar a otros sin esperar nada a cambio.
En honor a su memoria, el velorio será el miércoles 17 de abril de 2024 de 5:00-8:00 pm en Serenity Funeral Home. La misa del funeral será el jueves 18 de abril de 2024 en la Iglesia Católica de Saint Andrew, seguido por el entierro a las 11:30 am en el cementerio católico de Our Lady Queen of Heaven.
