Nancy L Schnell

Nancy L. Schnell- On November 19, 2014 our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went to begin eternity with our Lord. Nancy was born in Wheeling, West “By-God” Virginia on April 17, 1937. Never did she say “West Virginia” without including the phrase “by-God”. She was a devout Catholic who had an amazing personal relationship with her savior Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents Henry Langham and Kathryn Braunlich Langham. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Jacquelyn Lewis and her former husband John R. Schnell Sr.

Since the age of 23, Nancy spent nearly every waking moment caring for others. Her oldest child John was born in 1960 when Nancy was just 23. Since then she has cared for her three children. When she wasn't taking care of her children, she was taking care of patients in the doctors office she worked for. She spent nearly 40 years as a Laboratory Technologist for Doctor Charles Halfpenny and the late Doctor Roland K. Molinet. She loved the staff at that office...Kathy, Paula, Linda and the doctors...like family. She maintained a close bond with them long after retirement.

She is survived by her children John R. Schnell Jr and Brian Schnell (Laurie). She is also survived by her sister Beverly Dumas of Wheeling, WV, and her grandchildren Kayla, Hunter, Macie, Brandon and Taylor, as well as countless close friends.

Anyone who knew her loved her and her passing has touched so many. Her giving legacy will live on as she requested in lieu of flowers donations be given to the Miami-Dade Police Officers Assitance Trust (POAT.org) in honor of her memory.

Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 6:00PM, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, located at 8279 Sunset Strip, Sunrise, FL 33322 (954) 741-7800

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nancy's memory to the Police Officer Assistant Trust.

Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
