Koncsol, Raymond, Paul, 77, of Oakland Park passed away suddenly July 23, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
Born in Wilkinsburg, PA, son of the late Mary (Waszo) and Ray Koncsol. He is survived by son Mark Koncsol, daughter Kathryn Banner MD (Greg), sisters Elaine Young (David), Marion Salopek (Tom (deceased), Judy Harrington and Janet Monsour and will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Ray served in the US Marine Corp. from 1957-1962. As a Pittsburgh resident and with his wife Janet, Ray owned two real estate companies and was an avid golfer.
After spending time in Atlanta, GA Ray moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL which he called home for the past 35 years. As a part of the Wilton Manors community, he was passionate about his sales businesses, billiards and volunteerism. He was very active in both the Wilton Manors Kiwanis and the Moose Lodge # 2267.
He spent many holidays bringing joy to disadvantaged children as Santa and as “Uncle Sam” and his character Archibald Thaddeus Homer brought joy to the lives of both children and adults.
Ray had a positive message and gentle spirit throughout his life and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Finally, in Dad’s words: “If you think happy, you’ll act happy and you’ll be happy.”
