Tamarac

Rebecca Lynn Levesque, 55, of Tamarac, Florida died unexpectedly at home from cardiac arrest on 9.30.2023. She was born in Wyandotte, Michigan to Sandra R. Pickard and Leroy “Rick” Richter before moving to Florida at the age of seven. As a fun-loving rebellious teenager, her free spirit knew no bounds. She’d hide under the bed to skip school; from sneaking in and out of windows, to coming home early in a cab, Becky was often mischievous in her own way.

As Becky matured into a beautiful, loving mother, her tenacity turned her into a vivacious woman with wanderlust. Her kind heart was as bright as her smile. Becky was also generous, adventurous, comical, witty, brave and strong-willed, but above all, a dedicated wife, loving mother, beautiful daughter and caring friend…always being herself.

Sid Levesque met the love of his life, Becky Christopher in 1997, at the grand opening of Sloppy Joe’s at Beach Place in Fort Lauderdale. While standing in line sloppy drunk to get in, Sid made eye contact with this beautiful blonde woman sitting on a chair talking to some rando guy in a tie. He made a bee line to speak with her, and by the time he reached her the tie guy had left. Sid asked, “Who’s the guy in the tie?” She replied, “He’s nobody, but probably getting me a drink.” *wink wink* Sid proceeded to introduce himself. “Hey now, I’m Sid.” Becky giggled, “Hi Sid, I’m Nancy.” He paused, asking if he could buy her a drink. She laughed and stated “Did you catch what I said?” Realizing she was referencing Sid and Nancy of The Sex Pistols, he knew instantly they were meant to be. Sid ended up being the rando guy buying her drinks as they continued their mischief throughout the night.

Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married at Sheraton Suites, April 17th 1999.

“The night before the day of our wedding, we dreamed that the universe had a party; all the stars were invited, beneath sparkling chandeliers, the planets rejoiced; In all its beautiful, candlelit galaxies, crowded with glass clinking revelers, the cosmos was laughing with lasting love and light.” – Sid and Becky Levesque

She taught her son, Kyle, to be caring and sensitive, but take no B.S. from anyone. Saying his first cuss word in front of her, she just smiled - lighting the world every time she did - and said “you can say bad words in front of me, it’s okay.” She was the coolest mom in the world, every kid in school said so, while also saying “Dude, your mom is hot.”

Becky had a soft spot for her furry friends, treating each and every one like a valuable family member. One day out running after a turning point in her life, a canine officer training a dog approached and asked if she would like to meet David. Who names their dog David? she thought. The family met David the dog, and upon hearing the story of why he was named David, Sid said “His name’s Dude now.” Fifteen years later, the Dude still abides.

Becky and her closest friends were practically inseparable throughout their lives. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! Meeting many friends in her travels, both Spooky and normal, she brought laughter and joy wherever she went. Forever blessings to Selena, Diana, and for her lifelong friends at Medical Billing Solutions, they guided her through difficult and trying times over the years, and Sid, Kyle and Family are forever thankful for their unending kindness, generosity, and support.

Aspiring to be a crime scene forensics investigator, she had a strange attraction to dead things, always down for a photo-op with roadkill. Perhaps that’s why she liked crime shows so much. With wanderlust, she crossed the country to try 20 different Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives; from strange foods like cricket burritos to a drink called Corpse Re-animator, you knew Becky was always down for good food, friendly faces, and fun times.

Becky will always be remembered for her smile and the way she lit up the room. We’ll always imagine hearing her say “It’s too effin’ hot outside!!!” We couldn’t have asked for a more extraordinary and remarkable wife, mother, daughter, and Spooky friend, and everyone will miss Becky every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who love and knew her.

Becky was preceded in death by her brother Richard W. Griffin and is survived by her son Kyle Christopher, her husband Sid, her Mom Sandy and her Dad Rick.

May you forever rest in peace, our brightest heavenly light
