Richard Aversa was born on August 18, 1938 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Carmen and Gladys Aversa. He had two brothers, Robert (his twin) and Carmen, and two sisters, Linda and Dottie. He and his wife Carol were married 57 years. They moved from Agawam, Massachusetts to North Lauderdale, Florida in 1970.
Richard and Carol had two sons, Michael and Rory married to Carole and Marie. They had three grandchildren; Nicholas, Stephanie married to Justin, and Corey married to Dana along with two great grandchildren, Khadijah and Noah.
Richard, also known as “Dick” had worked as a tile mechanic for many years. He loved his work and often would come home whistling. His hard working, reliable work ethic was passed down to his two sons.
Dick was a real people person, very friendly, and hospitable. He made friends wherever he went. As a younger person, he even performed in musical plays, such as Oklahoma, Lil’ Abner, and Wild Cat. Dick also enjoyed playing a winning game of pool with friends and family.
His family and friends will miss him because of his laughter and outgoing personality. We look forward to welcoming him back to the future promise of a paradise earth where sickness will be gone forever and everyone can enjoy a happy and healthy life as promised in Revelation 21: 4.
Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
