Rita Weiss

Rita Weiss, 73, resident of Coral Springs, Florida passed away on October 25, 2016.

She was born in Philadelphia,Pa September 4,1943. She moved to Miami Beach in 1947 where she was raised by her loving parents. She graduated from Miami Jackson Senior High in 1961. She then went to University of Florida and was welcomed into the sisterhood of Zeta Tau Alpha in which she cherished in her heart and became a lifelong member. She graduated in 1964 with her bachelors in education.

Rita's passion for education led her to pursue her masters of education with a specialization in school counseling. Rita worked as a guidance counselor and guidance director for the Broward County School Board for 42 years in which she touched the lives of many students .

Rita also was a Florida Atlantic University alumni board member and an active volunteer for the Florida long term care ombudsman program.

Rita is survived by her daughter Andrea Weiss Allison, son in law Justin Allison, grandchildren Mia (13), Andrew (11), Austin (10) and Jaxson (3) Allison. Who she spent all of her time with and were the most important part of her life.

She is preceded in death by her mother Pauline Cecere, father Romeo Cecere, her aunts Edith Point and Mary DelConte, cousin Richard DelConte.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM at Serenity Memorial Chapels, located at 5229 Coconut Creek Parkway, Margate, Florida 33063. (754) 205-4640

Wake Service will be held during the Visitation at 4:00 PM.

Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
