Robert Hannat
January 12, 1983 - November 3, 2022
Miami, Florida - Robert ("Bahreddine"/"Bobby") Hannat passed away unexpectedly on November 3, 2022, at the age of 39. He is survived by his mother, Nafissa Hannat, his partner Melissa Goldman, and their beloved dog Rocco. Born in Morocco in 1983, he moved to Brooklyn, New York with his mother in 1989. His magnetic and big-hearted personality was seen early on and continued throughout his life.
Bobby lived a life of service. Beginning as a young child he became involved in his community by cleaning up parks, volunteering in food banks, and organizing toy drives for homeless children. He enlisted in the United States Army days after the 9/11 attacks at 17 years old foregoing a college scholarship. Bobby took great pride in his military career. He honorably served two combat tours in Iraq, earning a variety of medals and badges of honor for his service including a Purple Heart.
Bobby was a self-made man. After his military service, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Economics from Keene College and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. Upon graduation, Bobby served as a Florida state prosecutor before starting his own law firm Sierra Law. His work in the legal profession fit with his innate sense of justice. He fought passionately for truth, fairness, and "the principle of the matter." He was always a champion for the underdog. Bobby credited his tremendous sense of justice to his mother who made him watch 60 Minutes every Sunday as a child – a tradition he continued on his own and had hoped to share with his children one day.
Bobby had a passion for the finer things in life and a quiet love of art and all things beautiful. But most of all he loved making people laugh. He had a talent for scoring invitations to the best parties and placement on the most exclusive VIP lists all over the world. His many escapades and fierce sense of loyalty led to lifelong friendships. Throughout his life, Bobby deeply loved nature and animals, especially dogs. He found peace and joy in skiing, boating, spearfishing, and free diving. Bobby was a kind and loving soul and will be missed forever and always beyond measure.
