On Saturday, December 29, 2018 Terry Vance Graves, loving father, brother, grandfather and a decorated Vietnam Veteran passed peacefully at age 70, with his faithful dog, Lucky, by his side.
Terry was born August 15, 1948 in Jacksonville FL to Robert and Jean (Case) Graves. In his younger years, he spent time working in his Grandfather's Hardware Store in Trenton GA, where he was surrounded by his mother's family.
He received his degrees from University of Florida and Florida State University and went on to become a state and federal probation officer. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Jessica, and instilled in her a love of animals, reading and road trips.
He spent the last 6 months of his life proclaiming everyday to be happier than the last. He is survived by two grandchildren, Lola and Jesse, his sister, Kevinda, his mother and two brothers, Paddy and David.
A Celebration of Life visitation will take place on Friday, January 4, 2018 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation.
My dad loved state parks, especially riding his new red bike through Birch State Park with his grandchildren.
Our family will be sponsoring a bench in his memory so there will always be a place to sit with him in nature and reflect on the life he lived. If you would like to donate to the memorial bench fund in lieu of flowers, you can do so here:
