Thercia Phillipe Auguste Menard was born in Saint Marc, Haiti to Mercia Jerome and
Carnot Phillipe Auguste on December 31st, 1935. As a young girl she was adventurous,
outgoing and a jokester. She came to the United States in 1964 from Haiti leaving her
two children, Ducarmel and Jacques, in search of a better life. After establishing herself
in New York, she had Gerard and Amide. Thercia was always a very caring person and
she carried that quality with her in everything she did. She was an extremely hard
worker, very independent, strong, committed, and also quite stubborn. In 1993, she
moved to Florida where she continued to provide private home health care to the
elderly, and in addition opened another restaurant. She was a devoted Mother, loving
Grandmother, and an exceptional friend. In 2004, she started the greatest job of all - as
an amazing grandmother to her grand kids, Logan and Zoryn. She enjoyed spending
time with her family, both near and far. On December 30, 2013 Thercia was called home
to be with The Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her
brothers, Michel-Ange and Belonie Phillipe Auguste; children: Ducarmel and wife Alice,
Jacques, Gerard and wife Samadah and Amide and husband Garry. grandchildren:
David, Gerard Jr., Jelanie, Logan Jude and Zoryn. She was blessed with extended
family members and faithful friends for whom she cared for deeply.
